Let's get this started... Errol?

Postby saucedude » Tue Jul 20, 2010 11:42 am

Got a pass and since Saturday group rides are where it's at, is Errol where to be? Need to know so I can get the right bike for the right ride. More than likely it'll be the TT bike just for the extra weight on the lil hills in Errol. I have to carry so much extra gear + the heavier bike, it's like I am on = ground. I do have a couple 4# dive weights I could add on to get me close to the Birdman.

Errol is in. I will not confirm if I will be riding my tt bike or not.

No way, man. I riding on that ride is sketchy enough without TT bikes. I almost got crashed god knows how many times on sunday morning and I don't recall any TT bikes being present.

I think it made it more unfair.... But I don't mind towing the group around for a few hours of my work out. If you do ride a tt bike, you know that you should not be in the bars unless youre on the front, off the front or attacking. Also you are not allowed to sprint for safety reasons. Some people just think they can do whatever they want... Doesn't work that way

Unless you happen to be a sprinter w/ mad skills! But I agree, I would never want to see OldMan sprinting on his TT bike. Not much a sprinter anyhow, but still, that would be U-G-L-Y!

Good ride today. I guess it was a good turnout. Low # of ASV riders. Heard they might be doing the Spanish races down south. Ride started fast... I guess. Riders were struggling at the back to stay on. But the wind was on their side as it was a strong head wind on the back side. Several break attempts. One stuck for a lap, but when I jumped across I was almost taken out by some A-hole that passes me on the right... while I ridiing the white line. It was just two of us on a 24 foot wide road and he passes me between the gutter and the wite line, what's that like 2 feet? Really?? After that I sat up. he made it to the break but they had already thrown up the white flag. On the start of the 3rd lap a good group was starting to form at the front and in the hilly section they split off. had a nice gap too. I jumped the gap, passing a few in the midle and got to the back where I just sat for the nex two laps. A couple more made the break and that was it. About 12 or so strong riders.
I don't know how it finished as I sat up on the end of the 4th lap. had knee pain. Has anyone else had problems wih the newer Keo cleats? Seems like I lost my pedal float. But I digress... The ride was good for my weekly ride. I stayed out of the way while riding in the aero bars and suffered just a bit.
Good ride....

Saucey, the ASV guys were not in South Florida. I rolled up to BSI to ride out to Errol and it was only Me, Laz, Pedro, Anger, and one or two others so we went to Lakemont and did that ride. Actually a pretty decent ride.

Colin, almost went that route but hills are what I am lacking right now. I think the ASV group missed a good one today.

BB... nice to know you are still kickin it in the old hood. I miss the old Thrailkill Days.
And you are right... hot as balz this morn.

Why didn't someone tell BB that you can't get through so he didn't have to turn around and circumnavigate to get up there?

I rode directly to Errol, but on the way back I rode with the BB2 & Nikki. They took the scenic route...

Yea super epic errol. Sauce rode very amicably on his tt bike, as one should. Break went somewhere on lap three. All the usual suspects where in it... It felt like I stepped out of a shower after the ride... So hot.

I heard DRX might make a guest appearance at the back of the group but he promises not to sprint at the end, TT bars or no TT bars.

Today's Errol was the biggest SUCK ever. That had to be the hottest ride I have ever done. I came close to quitting a couple of times on lap 4 . . . and just kept saying "next hill . . .next turn . . . next hill". The heat and humidity was so oppressive that i had difficulty breathing. Then a nice cloud blocked the sun to start lap 5 and I went back to finish mode. ASV Josh went down hard right in front of me through the chicane by the neighborhood. Odd circumstance. The guy in front of him hit a large stick, which kicked up and went straight into Josh's wheel, hitting his fork and causing him to flip. Nasty gashes on his knee and elbow. That's very rough pavement on that section. A few of us stopped to help so do not know what happened with the end. One of those days where it was so butt-nasty ugly hot that nobody had the juice or fortitude to stay away, unless lap 5 something happened.

Was it Swerve? or a different Josh? Anyhow, that SUCKS! Crashin ain't never a good thing.
But as for hot...M-A-N up bird man! My crew and myself spent about 5hrs out in this heat (2-7) putting out a 25+acre brush fire, and not the small creepy-in-the-grass BS... This was the 10 feet above the tops of the pine trees, Helicopter, Airplane, tankers, tractors, woods trucks and fire engine kinda fire! Houses were in danger, Horses were a runnin, home owners were scramblin, and we were walking right into it...Well not me exactly :x I was asigned to keeping the house from burning down...Not as cool as dancing w/ the Dragon up close and personel. But it was hot regardless. but it was a dry heat :lol1

Don't ask that over paid OFD guy Doug about this kinda work...there ain't no woods in them there city stations. He'd waste his foam faster than a 13 year old w/ his first porn :lol1

Good thing he rides a Ti bike! Can take a dent or two unlike Carbon.

And Colin...Why's it gotta be a WHITE thing! You act as if the whole ASV armada is latino... And BTW, Latino color IS the new white...Viva Mexico!

Funny thing was, Josh had a bit of a sun-screen malfunction yesterday morning. So when we left the parking lot, he literally WAS white from head to toe. But I digress...

Have to give a shout out to Drx while I'm at it. That boy was true to his word, I saw him once at the start and once at the end. And he didn't even look like he was sweating, so I'm thinking he found a nice tree to sit under for the 4.5 laps...
